A Sweet Afternoon

Nate & I had the opportunity of taking our children to the Draper Temple open house today. They were both so excited to go. Will has been fascinated by any building with a steeple for several months now...he thinks every church is a temple. Liv can see the temple from her bedroom window & has been very anxious to get to go inside. I jumped at the chance of taking them to this. I can still remember going to the Jordan River Temple open house as a young child (I have vivid memories of putting on the little slippers). I hope that my children remember today as well when they are older. It was so fun for me to be in that beautiful building with them & to experience it through their eyes. Of course, Liv loved the bride's room & all the "sparkly lights." She took it all in...she asked me what every room was as we entered it. Will's highlight was the baptismal font, or rather the "hot tub." His eyes lit up when he saw it & I could hear the wheels churning in his head as he tried to figure out how he could get in it. I was worried he was going to make a run for it! To top it all off, they got cookies at the end of the tour which was an added bonus for them (I think Will had about 10. Every time I turned my back he was back at the table grabbing more. He even took a bite out of one & then put it back on the tray because he didn't like it). All in all it was a wonderful experience for the whole family that I will cherish always.

My Little 3-Month Old Valentine!

Lyla Jane is 3-months old today. Where does the time go? I am trying to enjoy every little moment of her infancy. I am not sure if she is our last or not, but even so I don't want to wish away any "stage". She brings our family so much happiness. She is our little valentine!

A Valentine's Surprise!

I LOVE holidays! While the kids were downstairs playing this morning, Nate & I decorated their rooms for Valentine's Day. They were both so excited! We wrote all of our favorite things about each of them on hearts that we hung on the wall. William had seen the candy hearts I scattered on their beds in the pantry earlier in the week & kept trying to eat them. I told him they were for his friend's valentines & he couldn't have any. When he saw them on his bed this morning, he was really confused. He kept asking me if they were for his friends or really for him. It was pretty cute.

Will's Words

So my friend, Kristin, posts what she calls "The Daily Jack" on her blog...cute, funny things that her little boy, Jack, says each day. Well, I am going to copy. I hope you don't mind Kristin. It's just a great idea!

Will has been sick all week. On Tuesday night while my parents were here, he started complaining that his ear hurt so we left to go to the InstaCare.

Grandpa: "I'm sorry you're sick, Will. The doctor will take care of you & fix you right up."
Will: "But Grandpa, I not broken."

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We wish all of our family & friends a Happy Valentine's Day!

Star of the Week

It was Olivia's turn to be the "Star of the Week" at school...she was quite excited! She LOVED going through all of our pictures & deciding which ones to put on her poster. Of course, the most important pictures to include were of "Tom & Jerry", her stuffed dogs, & the 3 real dogs in her life: Dottie, Charlie, & Dexter. She chose to take "Fancy Nancy & the Posh Puppy" as the book to read to her class. Forget dolls or Barbies...Olivia continues to love anything that has to do with animals, particularly dogs. We love you, Liv!
