Cowabunga Backyard!

For her birthday party this year, Liv wanted to go to Cowabunga Bay (a new & pricey waterpark that just opened by our house). The list of friends & cousins that she wanted to invite got rather long, so we settled on Cowabunga Backyard instead. It was a blast! We had an inflatable bounce waterslide, slip-n-slide, swimming pool, & turned the sprinklers on under the tramp...we even had a snack bar & a place to search the "beach" for buried treasure. We ended up having 25 kiddos total. It was a little crazy, but LOTS of fun. Thanks to all of Livi's friends & family who came to the party. She is one blessed little girl!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to the best dads around! We love you!

7 Months Old

Sitting up, rolling all over the place, grabbing for EVERYTHING, & 2 bottom teeth. Lyla is 7 months old. It is so bittersweet...she keeps getting more & more fun, but it is sad to have our baby get bigger!

We're Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo...

I got to go with Liv's kindergarten class on their field trip to the zoo. We had a great time! It rained all the way there & then stopped right as we arrived. It made for a great zoo day. All of the animals were out. The girls even got to hear the tiger roaring. Liv's favorite part was the snake house as usual...the smell of that place is so nasty!

Meet Ironman

Will has left the "train stage" & has now entered the "superhero stage" (I am glad that I have who knows how much money worth of "Thomas" stuff in my basement!). He is currently OBSESSED with all things Ironman. The first thing he does when he wakes up in the morning is put on his costume. We have established a rule though...he cannot wear the costume to the store. I have my limits! I have to say that I was sad to see the train stage come to an end. My little man is growing up. Next will come the "Star Wars" obsession. Bring it on!

Dance Recital

Utah Dance Center peformed "The Wizard of Oz" this year. Liv's class was the monkeys. It was such an amazing production. Liv did such a great job. She got a little confused when they came on stage & ended up in the wrong spot, but she danced her heart out anyway. I was so proud of her. After the recital, she asked me if I'd noticed that she was in the wrong place...when I said yes, her reply was, "Oh well, at least you could see me this time!" (Normally she is on the far side of the stage due to height issues). And she was right, she was dead center & I could see her great! Good job, Peanut. You were the cutest flying monkey I've ever seen!

Our Fish

Apparently we have a new pet at our house...a fish named William! He has been taking swim lessons over the past 2 weeks with a bunch of his buddies. Needless to say, he has no fear. It was hard to get a picture of him when he wasn't underwater.

Spring Soccer

Both Liv & Will played spring soccer this year with some of their neighborhood friends. Liv really loved soccer this season. She seemed a lot less intimated by the other players & really came into her own. It was so fun to watch her gain new confidence on the field. She was so proud of herself when she would kick the ball (she even had a couple stretches where she broke out & kicked it down the field!). She was disappointed that she didn't score a goal, but we are still so very proud of her. We love you, Liv!

This was Will's 1st soccer experience. He liked it for the most part. He would play for about the 1st quarter & then he was done. He mostly liked to put on his uniform & goof around on the field with his buddies. I think he was just in it for the treats & trophy!

Lucy Mae & Lyla Jane

My brother & his family were here last week for a short visit. It is always so fun to see them...my kids LOVE their Uncle Ry, Aunt Sara, & cousin "Lucy Goose." It is hard to say goodbye, but the good news is that we won't have to again. They will officially be moving home in August!!! Lyla can't wait for her BFF to live in town so they can play all the time!

Good Ship Lollipop!

Liv, a.k.a Shirley Temple, had her spring singing concert last week. She has been taking lessons from Singers Unlimited this year & absolutely loves it. I definitely think she has found her niche. She actually isn't too bad & can carry a tune! She sang "Good Ship Lollipop" & "Animal Crackers." We could hear her even when she didn't have the microphone (she does have a loud voice like her mom & Grandma Linda). She did a great job. We are very proud of you, Liv!

6 Months Old

Our little Lyla is 6 months old! This is my favorite baby age...so happy all of the time but not yet mobile! Her little personality is really starting to show. She is all smiles all the time! Milestones? Well kind of...not quite yet sitting up, but rolling from her tummy to her back. And this little baby girl LOVES her mommy which of course pleases me! She is so yummy...don't you just want to grab those chubby little cheeks?

Down Time

Nate & I spent Mother's Day weekend in Vegas. It was a MUCH needed vacation. It was actually the 1st time we have left our children to go out of town (Seriously!). We had such a great time. It was so great to lounge by the pool all day & not have to worry about my kids in the water. We shopped, went to a show, shopped, went to dinner, shopped some more! My kind of trip! But most of all, it was just nice to be together. I cherish the time I get to spend w/ Nate alone. We definitely will be planning another trip together soon!
